Of anguish and angst

If you want to talk about grief, talk to a parent who has buried their child.
If you want to talk about emotional abuse, talk to someone who has escaped an intimate relationship with a manipulative personality disordered partner.
If you want to talk about betrayal, talk to someone who suddenly discovers their partner has been living a double life of lies and deceit.
If you want to talk about brainwashing, talk to someone who has finally managed to escape the clutches of a cult.
If you want to talk about getting knocked down then getting up again and again, talk to an amputee who overcomes their handicap.
If you want to talk about feeling ignored and irrelevant, talk to a homeless person.
If you want to talk about determination and never giving up, talk to an ultra marathon runner
If you want to talk about finding inner strength when you think it’s spent, talk to a solo ocean sailor.
If you want to talk about primal instinct, anguish and angst, talk to a parent who can’t find their child.
If you want to talk about hope and hopelessness, talk to a prisoner on death row.
If you want to talk about unfairness and injustice, talk to someone who has served time for an offense they did not commit.
If you want to talk about all these feelings and more, at the same time, and if you want to talk about unconditional love, then talk to a long term alienated parent.
